I always find it interesting when asked if I'm against drugs and alcohol. My usual response is that I'm against it being in my body! Just because I can no longer tolerate using doesn't mean the whole world has stopped to honor my sobriety. I'm often asked about my opinion on smoking that non addictive, medical/social and almost nationally legal marijuana. Once again, my response is subjective to my body. I don't use any mood or mind altering substance; Including "dah herb" (although it has been brought to my attention that a tall double shot at Starbucks can certainly alter my mood)..so far, I've resisted the temptation to do a Starbucks B&E for their coffee beans...But, I digress...for me, my body doesn't distinguish between medicinal and social. For example: Before getting clean I'd always slug down NyQuil when I felt like I was coming down with a cold. Needless to say, I often had a cold! The alcohol content aided in my recovery from the sniffles, I thought. I remember toasting myself with the plastic cup attached to the bottle which , of course, I filled past the dose line. "Question: Does NyQuil contain alcohol? Answer: You should not exceed four doses of NyQuil in a 24-hour period. NyQuil Liquid contains 10 percent alcohol." For me, anything that changed my perception or masked reality was medicinal. It wasn't until alcohol and dope stopped working for me and started working against me that I became uncomfortable enough to think there may possibly be a problem. So, in summary: I can't, you can, I think I'll let you. And if perchance it's stopped working for you as it did for me, then I'll help you! If that's what you want. ....Peace, Love, Guidance and Gratitude...
